I have sent an email to the class regarding our upcoming reunion and it did not go through. I sent it a second time and it still did not go through. What is going on Thanks, Debbie

To get a better picture of what's going on with email lately, check out some of the current posts in the All About Email group in these forums.

John, How can I get someone's attention about this issue? We have a message forum with 30,000+ posts. Now, no one seems to be able to post from a laptop, including me. One person could post from an iPhone, but I can't post from an Android phone. Now we can't post messages, and about a third of the class isn't receiving emails.

David, There appears to be multiple reasons combining to create the end result of missing emails. I know that Class Creator is fully aware of the majority of the problems, but getting major mail domains to admit (and fix) their problems is just as frustrating to Class Creator as it is to us. As far as not being able to post, that's definitely a bug, and while I don't see that on my site, posting your description in the "Bugs" forum should get you some help that can see more than I can see from here.

As an old programer, coincidents, I find are rare. Along with not receiveing emails from this website I am also finding difficulty in staying logged on. I log on, using my email and password, select Keep Logged In and all is well. But when I return I have to log in again, over and over. The commonality of these are my email address. Any clues?

Make sure clearing cookies is not set in browser options. I use all the various browsers and stay logged in for months in terms of not having to log in again.

My email finally went through, but it took 24 hours. However, it didn't go to everyone. What's up ClassCreator?

Patty, Verify your browser settings. Sometimes, when browsers update, they "forget" the settings. That's rare, but it's happened to me a few times. Mostly on my PHONE (ugh). My wife had that happen a few weeks ago on her laptop. Had to reset everything. The aol, yahoo, email delivery is a problem with many recent posts about the receiving issue. I do not think Gmail has ever had a reported problem. Sometimes CC itself has had their email system not work though.

John Ralph -- As I recall we had email (varied by vendor)~ related issues a couple years back -- If I recall, an artifact of a big system upgrade back then. I now too see that emails (Site posting notifications) are not being received by my site members - likely for weeks or more; I as Root Admin don't get Contact Us mssgs; my All Hands (site-wide) member emails (inquiring of members about such notification receipt issues)are apparently NOT going out, AND my attempts to send a PW reset (system) email to a user is also failing (though I just attempted to send the member a new PW notification and am also trying to simply change the PW then tell it to him by phone to see if that works). Sooo -now - since you seem to have some insights (and CC Techs are swamped so not-responding for the moment)- can you let me/rest of us know what you know/suspect re the exact issues and what is being done so I/others don't need to be asking them in parallel? Many thx. -Rog

Roger, I'll repeat what I just posted in another thread I've been maintaining through the latest series of email problems. John As you can see from some of my earlier posts in multiple "email" threads, I've been fooled when notify emails appeared to start working again, but... For the last two days, all emails from Class Creator have begun to show up in my Yahoo/ATT inbox normally. And... My notify read totals appear to be moving back to my 100% 'normal'. Time will tell, but it looks like Yahoo may have finally got their act together.

John thx. So sounds from your description like these occasional Notify & other CC system email 'drops'/ receipt variations are caused by individual email vendor systems...and NOT due to something ClassCreator changed or is doing (or can you tell)? And, yes, real-time the last day or so I too am seeing and anecdotally hearing from a handful of my members that the Notification emails ARE FINALLY starting to appear again (though I have little detail to determine how widespread the issue was). Should such notify email receipt 'hiccups' continue/return however -- knowing the answer to the above is kind of important to deciding whether we Admins focus on an explanation from CC vs sorting our members by their email vendor then canvasing the ones whose e- vendors are associated with the receipt problems. So to that end -- you mentioned that users like you on Yahoo experienced receipt problems. I'm on AoL and have experienced the problems I noted earlier re ALL of CC's email-based comms. Do you (or others reading this thread) know of other email vendors used by your site's members that do (or do NOT) experience these email receipt problems? Sorry to over-emphasize this -- but given the unforeseeable nature and frequency of such occurrences (and our having to scramble, caught awry each time as an Admin community) I'm trying to figure whether these hits are purely random and different each time -- or, whether we can apply 'learnings' from past events to upcoming ones.
