I have posted some photos in the photo gallery that were great quality until I downloaded them to the site. They appear small and the quality diminishes. What size does the photo need to be in terms of pixels or megabytes to maintain quality?

If it is larger than 1,000 pixels are system resizes. Jessica

Jessica, here's how CC works with images. Indeed, CC REPROCESSES all jpg images uploaded and -can- reduce the quality for JPG images because it uses a different JPG compression setting. Sure the image size might be the same, however, the actual compression is different. Using PNG images that are not over 1000 (or other lossless formats) are the only way to not have that happen. For larger images it can get really weird, generating images much larger than original, even though resolution is less. I had a post a long long time ago showing examples of how this worked. Don't know the original image here to test/show how it's been modified, but JPG are all modified, even if under 1000px Uploading the the FILE VAULT (not image vault) and NOT using CC gallery is the only way to retain crisp images.
