I have just created a site and am not familiar with many of the features. But this does not seem right to me. After I login from the home page I do not return to home page. Does anyone know how to fix this?

It's not broken.

It just doesn't do that.

The theory behind this is, when you're brand new, you are not going to be familar yet with what all of the Member and Admin functions do. So you are taken to a page where all of the editorial functions have an expanatory paragraph. Many people check the "Remember Me" box when logging in, so when they come back to the site they're already logged in anyway. If you do that you'll never see the explanatory screen again.
