A member says he is having problems uploading a sizable portion of writing to the message forum. He would like to know what data restrictions are placed on each forum entry.

Brad, I just got the same message the classmate mentioned above by Jake got, about Javascript. Here are his posts on the message forum to us:
"Sorry, your message contains javascript or other attributes not allowed." Ok guys - I typed a response and got the above message. Of course. the response went poof. So I typed again in Word and attempted to copy and paste - got the same response. Have no idea what that means. The response is simply words - no symbols, pics, cuss words, political venting or pornographic or other extraordinary things. 04/18/10 01:32 PM #10109 EDIT DELETE Anita - can you check with Brad sometime please. I tried writing the post directly on the forum again. And got the same response. It is long but not excessive - is there a length limit like on Facebook? Now I will let it drop and go read a book.
Thanks,
|

I was getting this error message too, it's not anything you guys are doing, it's a bug in the system.

Thank you Brad! Wow, I just noticed that we now have an Editor in the Message Forum, that is very cool, THANK YOU! The error messages seem to be occurring any time the editor is used in just about any way, but text just typed in with no editing will post, apparently.

Brad Switzer wrote: Are you still getting this? Brad it seems to work fine now, except that the font size after posting doesn't match the font size showing in the editor. Again, I love having this editor in the Message Forum!

Brad, However, we are experiencing the problem mentioned above by Marian on our Home page right now (top & announcement area.) One day last week, the font size was strange on several pages with different font sizes appearing within the same sentence. I was able to straighten out the problem on the Joys & Concerns page, but just have not fought with it anymore on the Home page. At least right now the font size is the same within a sentence and paragraph. But, like Marian said, the font you choose to use when in edit is not always the font that appears (style-wise or size-wise.) And sometimes I cannot get the bold and italics to cooperate. Thanks so much! PS Our classmates are also LOVING the ability to edit on the message forum. I have wanted to use Happy Birthday images forever instead of just Youtube videos. AND NOW I CAN! YEAH!!!

Can you reference a specific sentence or paragraph on your home page that is one font and/or size in the editor and another on the public page?

Brad, All of the quotes and statements between the images on the top part of the Home page (above the spinning Welcome) are not the same size on edit/public pages. Then under the spinning Welcome the font size is REALLY tiny in comparison to the edit page. Down in the Annoucements the font appears all the same size on the edit page, but two different sizes on the public page.

![]() Can you clear your cache and load everything fresh? There are different font sizes, but I'm not so concerned about that. Because those different font sizes are precisely what is displaying in your editor. The editor font sizes, and the font sizes that appear on your public page are exactly the same. I realize the formatting in IE did change due to the updated doctype, but that update only revealed inconsistencies in the code that were there previously. For instance if you look at your Announcements, the text size starting at "The birthstone" is normal, and then changes to "xtra small" after your April Special Days header. That change on font size really is in there, and the editor is displaying the difference as it should. Bottom line, is there any text you can't change to be consistent between the editor and your live page display? I can't see any, it's all 100% the same. After clearing your cache I'm assuming you'll see it correctly too, and you should be able to select any smaller text and simply choose the font size of your choosing, correcting the problem.

I didn't know cache meant cookies and history. I do that all the time.

![]() It really doesn't, cache means temporary Internet files (auto saved copies of web pages as you browse the web).
