Once again, emails are not being received by members served by Yahoo--which now includes COX customers. Others may be involved, but I am not certain. Right now, we have three major events advertised by email. Any thoughts or similar situations? Thanks,

I am having the same experience. I've sent 2 important emails this week and only one-third have been received. What is going on, ClassCreator? Carole

My site is experiencing the same issue in the way of not receiving notifications when a page has been updated. (I have not tried emailing the entire class in awhile; so, not sure offhand if that would also be a problem, but I'm now assuming that they wouldn't get those emails either.) I have an ongoing thread relating to this problem under Class Creator Bugs on this forum. Sure hoping we get some kind of response from Class Creator soon in regard to their awareness of this ongoing problem and when it will be fixed. Sandie

Get a commercial Gmail Account. It's $6+tax a month. It will use YOUR website as the sender if you use the commercial version. This is what I use. You can generate 30 alias names if desired. That comes in handy. Like GMAIL except it has more features. Plus it uses YOUR website name vs the 'gmail' address.

Marsha Thaler wrote: Hi Sandie, I have written two emails to "Jessica" about this as well as placed a phone call and left a voicemail about mail not being delivered across the email address board...AOL. Yahoo. Gmail and now, Optonline, again! This communication started late last week and I have yet to receive a message back from anyone. This is very disconcerting especially since we are a Platinum subscriber. I am at a loss as to what to do now as this is the only way we connect with the whole class list. Any suggestions?? Marsha Thaler Fair Lawn High School '62 New Jersey Hey, Marsha ~ I just tried contacting CC directly by clicking on the "Contact" tab at the top of the screen and sent them a message. Maybe we should all try that. Then again, not sure if they're a victim of their own making and not receiving our messages either, just like we're not receiving any of their email notifications, etc. However, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hopefully we'll get some sort of response soon. Thank you for chiming in ~ Sandie

I wonder if the problem of classmates with yahoo.com email addresses not receiving emails is limited to sites using Platinum email. We have a Premium subscription, a step down from Platinum, which, to my understanding, uses a different email program. Yesterday, as a test, I sent a private message to a classmate with a yahoo.com email address and she received it fine.

I received this the other day from a trusted admin. Looks like the email issue is a really bad problem. Contacting CC by any means seem so be useless and very frustrating. Many of us have invested a lot of money with CC only to be shut out. A message from CC to all admins explaining just what they are doing to solve this problem sure would help. Here's what was just sent to the admin of another class from my school who just found that mail to Cox has finally begun working: As you know, I use an ATT mail address - which is also serviced by Yahoo.com. Many years ago now, AT&T dumped their in-house mail function to Yahoo, and it was a significant downgrade. It did (and still does) work most of the time, but the support became non-existent. Yahoo now hosts dozens of other mail address names as well. Email handling by Class Creator has always been less than stable. They only have one mail server, and it has to play games with web sites which send multiple bulk emails to a thousand or more classmates, and receiving ISP's which limit how many emails per hour (or day) one sender can pump out to them. Once Daily notify emails to my ATT address usually come in around 4am, but the duplicate to my Gmail address wanders in around 9:30 (it was past noon today) since CC has to send small batches of emails to Gmail over much more time. At least sends to most Gmail users have been working since January, but... I'll discuss that process more below. Oh, and the CC mail server programming was written in a program language Cold Fusion) which was obsolete and unsupported over ten years ago - so there's a known bug where it tends to 'hang' from time to time until it's restarted - and appears to drop some email that was passed to it while it was hung, or mail that was queued to be sent when it was rebooted. Back around late last December, Google made some changes (supposedly in 'test mode' but without telling anyone to start with) and demanded that everyone out there make some formatting changes when emailing to Gmail. It took a while to figure out why CC emails to Gmail just disappeared, and CC finally did make those required changes in January, but.... while mail to Gmail began working again, all email with the new formatting being sent to everyone else like Yahoo supported addresses began to fail - until somewhere around February or March when most (but not all) Yahoo hosted and other ISP's had made changes to match what Gmail demanded - and to correctly accept mail from those like CC who'd already made those changes. Unfortunately, it's taken most of this year for some of the other email handlers to finally get up to speed and start accepting mail which includes the Gmail mandatory format changes which CC has been sending out, and my notify statistics have slowly come back from 50-60% in March and April to near 95-100% 'read' now. To muddy the water, along with all that, several years ago, back when Class Creator 'migrated' to a new host, they broke the process of handling 'bounce' messages when sent email gets rejected at the receiving end. That's still not resolved, and with some exceptions (like platinum senders who don't use the noreply@classcreator.net sending address, and a few ISPs who return bounce messages differently), you won't get a bounce back from mail sent to a recipient who is no long valid, has their mail-box-full, etc, from most ISPs - including ATT, Gmail, Cox, Verizon, Mediacom, and a dozen others we've tested. CC has ignored our easily duplicated tests, and our suggestions on what we believe happened during the migration to cause the problem. In the CC help forums, there have been a long series of complaints as all the ISP's were adjusting to the new Gmail mandated format, and Cox was often named among those said to be failing. And even lately, there are some who report that emails are not being received. We don't know if the CC format changes for Gmail are still failing for some ISPs, the mail server is glitching more often, or the fact that we no longer receive bounce messages hid many of the responses to emails sent to receivers who were not accepting CC sends. I heard that Yahoo took over handling Cox earlier in the year, but may finally this month have gotten around to making the necessary changes for Cox that they'd done earlier for ATT, Verizon, and all the other domains Yahoo hosts. Most of those begun to start working earlier this year but it took months for my notify sent/read statistics to get back to what used to be normal. I don't have a platinum account, but CC has had problems over the years with notify programming and with their email server, so I double-check CC's mail functions by having a primary/login email address for my account (with all notify options set as Immediate) set to an ATT address, and an alt address to a Gmail address (which forwards to my ATT address). So I get two versions every day that some notify email goes out. I also have a hidden 'test' account with all notify options set as Once Daily, and a primary email address to a Century Link account and an alternate email address to an Outlook.com address. So I also get two emails there most days too - unless there's a mail server glitch and I don't see one (or more) that I should have. That's not uncommon, but not something I see often either.

We are in the same situation of making a change to our "In Memory" page about a funeral service coming up for a class mate and the CC announcing email has not been sent.

I have updated the status page here https://www.classcreator.com/contactus.cfm We are aware of the issue and working directly with Yahoo to determine what has changed and if they need us to make any adjustments on this end or if it something they are working to clear on their end. Please refer to https://www.classcreator.com/contactus.cfm for updates.

Hi Jack, Thanks for the suggestion. I do not use a Google email address....altho I do have one "just in case." I am amazed that I have not yet heard back from Jessica after 3 emails to Contact Us as well as a voicemail on their phone line. I see she did respond to Sandie from Wisconsin and is aware of the Send Mail issues....so, that's a start. What a mess again! Marsha

You just need a domain name. You already have one. flhs62reunion.com All the mail to that address will then arrive there. Then when you send email it will also come from flhs62reunion.com Not sure what CC has to change on their end since the MX (mail) record has to be changed if you are using the option to use your domain name now. My website and email are two different things.
