Our subscription expires in ten months and I am the only person with the knowledge and willingness to run our site. So questions have come up. What happens if I am not longer able to continue in this role? Is it worth renewing our subscription next year? A free site is a possible answer to both questions, but concerns about data security have been raised.

I just read the post by Gwen C. dated 12/28/13 “Introducing the New Free (with ads) Plan.” I haven’t heard much about that plan since that announcement. Does it still exist? Is the information in that announcement and its responses still accurate? If not, where can I find the latest information?

Free with ads is an option. Security is same as what you currently have.

Ads are a bit intrusive. Tell your users to run Adaware extension to remove them or use the Adaware browser that has it built-in.

Emails will have ads in them.
