There are two things that have bothered me for a while about trying to post on the home page. The first and probably the easiest to explain to me is how to stop the tool from automatically adding an extra line to my posting when I hit the ENTER button. In Word, it would be having the same control as the PARAGRAPH option, where you can add 6 pt lines after every ENTER (or not). I simply do not know how to stop it.

The second item is that if I have a JPEG that is embedded in my posting, it always appears to be a bit "fuzzy".

But getting beyond that I have not found a good way to post a nice flowing document with a good look to it from something that was originally created as a Word document. I have attached something I would like to post soon with some embedded JPEGS, and when I look at the preview after doing a copy and paste, it does not look right. I have tried taking the Word document and using various tools to make one large JPEG, but it does not work well. I have also attempted to write from scratch, and the fact that every time you hit the ENTER button, the tool puts an extra space in it makes it very difficult. Could you please help me solve this problem? I am not a newbie. I have been fighting this since 2011 when we first started using the website, and I do not know HTML. I feel there is something easy I am missing here. Please advise. Thank you.

I'm not sure if this is relevant to the tool putting an extra space, but when you edit a page, on the third line of the editor, next to Styles, you'll see Format. Click on the downward arrow to the right of Format and a menu appears. Scroll to the bottom and click on (Normal) DIV. This gives you single spacing. If you click on Normal, the first choice at the top of the menu, this gives you double spacing. I always format every page with (Normal) DIV. I wish (Normal) DIV was the default setting, instead of Normal.

Thank you for pointing out that option. I never made it to the bottom of the list to even consider using it. And it works! So, I think you have solved half the problem.

Have you ever pasted a JPEG into a posting? If so, did you see the fuzziness I mentioned? Just curious.

Ron, I never pasted a JPEG into a post, i.e. copied and pasted a photo. I always save the photo to my hard drive and use the Image Editor (second icon on first line which says Image when you hover over it), then Choose File, then upload the photo from my hard drive. Same with trying to copy and paste something from Word. It may be possible to copy and paste a word document to Notepad, which then strips all the extra code away, and then copy and paste from Notepad to wherever you wish to post it. However,
Since the beginning of our site, I simply hand-type every bit of text I create, and have never had difficulties with spacing or looks with this method.

Thank you for your response. I have only rarely used the method you mentioned, and I will try it in the future.

Meantime, I have been able to format what I need for our next posting and I appreciate all comments.
