Is anyone else getting bounce backs from Deceased memebers? I have just recently received 2 bounce backs from deceased members. I deleted one of them before I thought to ask what to do with them. I kept the other one until I figure why this is happening. I also have been getting bounce backs from a number of our classmates, some of them have not been on our site for for several years. What do you do with your bounce backs if you can't reach those classmembers?

For classmates with bounce backs who have not been on the site for several years, I contact them via their phone, if they've included a phone number in their contact info. Worse case: write them a letter, explaining the situation or contact them via a social media platform like Facebook Messenger.

The email for classmates classmates who have an In Memory entry should automatically be deleted, along with other contact info like their address and phone number; there should be no bounce back for those with an In Memory entry. If you have no In Memory entry for them, you'll continue to get bounce backs, as Class Creator still thinks they are alive.

There are two things you can check if you see a deceased classmates name/email listed under bounces.

1. As Scott mentioned above - Make sure they are listed under In Memory section of your site. The only way the system knows they are deceased is if the admin has entered them into In Memory.

2. It is possible their spouse is also on the site and uses the same email address as their primary or secondary email address. You can search this under

Admin Functions > Manage Classmates > Enter/Edit Classmates - there is a search box at the top where you can search by email address.

The bounce system will list the name most associated with the email address and that can be confusing if the bounce was actually caused because that email address is listed as an alternate email address for another classmate (typically their spouse).

Thank you for the response to my message about bounce backs for deceased members. Both the members who I got bounce backs for are listed In the Memory section. You mentioned their spouse may also use the same email address. For one of them their spouse is also deceased and both of them have been gone since 2015. The other one I know was not married. I have never gotten bounce backs for them before.

Some of those who we got bounce backs from have not been on our website for a number of years. I have tried to locate them with no success. I will continute to try to locate them. Until then I will leave them in the bounce back list
