A classmate no longer wishes to be a part of the admin staff. How do I remove her admin function so that she is not capable of making changes to the website?

Under the Details and Profiles/Photos boxes, I am unable to click on Details because the work "Root" is in both boxes. Therefore, I can't uncheck "grant admin access".

"Manage Classmates"/"Enter/Edit" click on Details for the classmate and uncheck the box for "Grant Admin Access." Save your changes.

I also need to remove admin status from a classmate, but there is no place I see "Grant Admin Access" after doing Enter/Edit. Is this feature missing?

To add or remove admin access for a classmate, under Admin Functions > Manage Classmates > Enter/Edit Classmates, click on the Details for the classmate. Scroll down till you see the box Grant Admin Access and check or uncheck the box.

See attached file.

Admin removal not working.jpeg

You did not read my note very well. It states:
There is no place showing "Grant Admin Access"

As shown in the attached. Marjorie is an Admin (on the red overlay), but there is no place to uncheck to remove her being an admin. Also note that her email address is missing from her Details.

phm, Your screenshot in response #5 does not show where the option would appear if it was there. I'm guessing that your problem is that you are not the root admin for the site. As a co-admin you can access other co-admins profiles but certain features are not present. One is the "Grant Admin Access". If my presumption is correct you can not do what you're trying to do. Only the root admin has that capability.

I did not know that there is a "root admin" role. I know the other admins and they would want me to be "root admin." 1. how do we/I figure out who is the current root admin?
OK. Found it on the Manage Classmates
2. What has to be done to make me the root admin?

I'm hoping that there is a feature to transfer Root Admin. The person who I think is the current Root Admin is having some medical problems, so it is important that I become Root Admin ASAP.
My friend is somewhat computer illiterate. Please point me to detailed instructions that I need to provide him to make the change. Or suggest another way to help him make the change.

Should I have him get on this thread to request the change?

Hi Philip,

Lee is listed as your root administrator. He would need to login and then go to Admin Functions > Preferences and select your name from the list of co-admins available to transfer root admin status to. Once he selects your name and then saves the page you would become the root admin.

Root admin 1.jpg

I'm the root admin for my site.

Once you determine who the root admin is for your site, have that person go to Admin Functions > Preferences. The first box, as seen in the attached file, has a dropdown menu of the root admin and all the co-admins. The root admin may select one of the co-admins to be the root admin.

Only the Root Admin will see this box and, as FC Bock says in Response #6, only the root admin can appoint someone else to be the root admin.

Edit: Sorry I did not see your post, Jessica, before posting this one. It's the same solution you've given.
