I do not think you can have the same email LOGIN address for two classmates. Is that what you mean?

That's an interesting question... From several older forum threads, you CAN use the same email address to log in for multiple classmates - as long as they use their own unique password.

I'd guess that the notify settings are linked to each user's own profile/account. As far as notify emails, that email address should get a notify email for both users when they both have a notify flag set for any category. That would result in two notify emails sent - which could be received on different days if one chose "Immediate" and the other chose "Once Daily" notify options.

But... I wouldn't bet on whether a bounce like "Mailbox Full" for that email address would lock both users.

John is correct. Old posts say that just the password has to be different. Combining the email+password is pretty unique (I think) to classcreator. This was discussed way back in 2010.

An alternative method for GMAIL (and many other) is to make the email LOOK different but actually be the same address. Then you can actually use the SAME password and still login to just that person's profile without the other person having to logout (in case you are sharing a system).

For example

yourname+husband@gmail.com
yourname+wife@gmail.com

will login to TWO different profiles at classcreator
yet both be delivered to the same yourname@gmail.com

Something like this - lastname+firstname could also work

vermeulen+jack@gmail.com
vermeulen+debbie@gmail.com

All emails would go to vermeulen@gmail.com

(note to CC these are all FAKE addresses, no need to remove)

they are both independent profiles in both cases, so each profile will act independent of the other profile setting.

As to being blocked, they each would bounce since they are the same address to the email system - as the email system sees them. In both the old and new systems a bounce will lock both profiles.
