We just had our 30-yr reunion PLUS a multi-class reunion last weekend. Based on quite a number of responses posted here, as well as our own Committee's input, I've developed a list of 20 questions for our survey. If anyone is interested in viewing our survey, please access the attached PDF.

Thx!

RE: Selling Tickets - HELP!

We had several people pay at the door and one other told us his check must have been lost in the mail.

We had extra money, so we tried not to get nervous about these people and we went with the flow.

I think the best idea is to make your best guess on the hotel drop dead date, and go with it. We thought about having the committee served last, in case the hotel ran out of food, but things seemed to work out just fine.

Less than a week before our Reunion there was a big flood in our town and we got calls wondering if the event was cancelled. The flood just gave us more interesting pictures and items to talk about after it was all over.

The PICTURE file vault will try to resize the photos that are uploaded.

The DOCUMENT file vault will keep any picture you upload at the uploaded size.

So if you want to have a thumbnail photo open up to a giant photo of your class, just upload the thumbnail photo to the PICTURE file vault and insert it and select it, then upload the giant photo to the DOCUMENT file vault (INSERT/EDIT LINK), then insert the link to the larger photo.

Thanks, I did see another site had set up SURVEY RESULTS, it was not available for me to see what they had done. I'll do the cut and paste, my group hasn't gotten into the forums because their Administrator (being me) isn't really either. I think it has something to do with age.

Brad and crew, thanks so much for all you do. This is an amazing system you've established for "connecting" classmates (and others) around the globe. We appreciate your patience and understanding in guiding us through each process.

Two additional Lansing Eastern classes are establishing websites here, one new (1960) and one (1957) continuing the process started months ago.

Thanks again,

Here is what I did:

I deactivated my survey. After opening the survey results I then copied the URL address and then went back to my homepage and under the Edit mode, I put in To see the results of the Post Class Reunion Survey click HERE. Then I highlighted HERE and then clicked on the Link icon and inserted the saved URL and then click on the Save button. Now all my classmates have access to the results!

Good luck!

RE: Selling Tickets - HELP!

Hi Vanessa...
I think it's typical..but I'm new at this too, and we're in the same boat. Our reunion is in early August. We have 240 active classmates, 156 saying they're coming on their profile, but only 27 tickets purchased.

I think part of the issue is the holiday season...we're thinking that in January, we'll really start pressuring them to pay up. One of the things we did that really helped a surge of purchases was put a refund policy on our reunion page. Based on our dates and venue contract, we felt that if people were gun shy due to the early payments it might help - and it did...somewhat.

Here is what we used...feel free to adapt to your situation accordingly...

REFUND POLICY
Tickets purchased before January 1, 2010 and canceled before February 1, 2010. The refund will be 100%.
All tickets purchased after January 1, 2010 will be subject to following refund schedule.

Cancellation before Feb. 1, 2010- 90% of purchase
Cancellation before Apr. 1, 2010- 80% of purchase
Cancellation before June 1, 2010- 50% of purchase
Cancellation before July 1, 2010- 25% of purchase
Cancellation after July 1, 2010- No refund available

July 10, 2010 will be the last day tickets may be purchased. This is so we can accurately report a headcount to the Hotel. We are sorry - there will be absoultly NO tickets sales at the door.

Good luck..

Some backgrounds are created as "Seamless", which means the left side of the picture and the right side of the picture will fit together without any seams. The same with the top and bottom sides. Your indian corn is not seamless.

If you have an example of a website where you see a seamless indian corn, we can copy that background to your hard drive and then change your background image to be the seamless one.

You can search the Internet for "Seamless Background Images" and find backgrounds that look good on your website.

It might help to put on the website the names of the people attending. People go to reunions to see particular people they have not seen in a long time.

I have a small class (65) so I was able to call thru the class list to see who would attend. For answers I got yes, no & maybe.
We planned for the yesses & maybes but most of the maybes didn't come anyway.

Sorry that's vague, but we haven't really even delved into the API yet because we're working on the next upcoming features, integrated Photo Galleries and Instant Messaging. When we get to Mixbook integration the timeframe on that will really depend on what's all involved, which we can't answer at this time.
