Is it possible to fix a customizable page so that when selected the page IS the linked page rather than just a link that takes you to that page? Especially if that link is changing day by day (for example the page would be the home page of the highschool website?)

No. All navigational links bring up your site framework. You would have to include links to third party sites in your main content area.
