How best to collect contributions to website

Our members are scattered all over the world - Canada, USA, South Africa, UK and Australia.
I have just renewed and extended our subscription for ten years on my own credit card.
Numerous classmates have offered to chip in to defray the cost.
How best can they do this in the most convenient way?

Is there a feature in ClassCreator which would enable Classmates to contribute via CC who could then pass on to me? I know there is Reunion Planner which has a payment collection feature, but would it be possible to "jimmy" the headings so that it looks like a "Contribute to Costs" page rather than the next reunion?
Thanks
Michael

Have you looked at the Donation Module? Go to Edit Site Pages, then Home Page Edit. This will show your Right modules that can be activated.

There is a module to Manage Donations. It works very well for me.

You can modify the words as needed, and I am attaching a snip of mine (sorry about the 'snow flakes' that got caught in the JPG). I had several use Paypal (have to open a Paypal account, but easy to do), while others just chose to mail a check. Some were QUITE generous.

Hi Michael,

Derrell is right to point out the donation module. When I first joined, I put it on immediately and had the $97 for one year and my domain renewal in donations within three days.

This week, I stopped Monday to post on the home page. Then I sent an email. Check out my home page. You will see a fundraiser thermometer and in the donations module I list the donors. I update this just as soon after a donation is received as I can. The button is linked to PayPal. With PayPal or CC's payment method, there are fees. Right now, my PayPal fees are just a bit over $10 on the $229 received. (Unless my calculations are off.)

I'll be happy to share my letter - though I am sure you can rally your troops. Smile

(I've had a PayPal account open for years.)

Here is a link to the free fundraiser thermometer site.

I usually keep the page open in a separate tab so I can update the results quickly.

Thank you so much Derrel and Gwen - I can see how well it works on your sites.
I shall try this, and I'm sure it'll work well.
