I created a customized link (Golf Outing) ... is there a way to reference this link in the text on the home page (embedding the link)?

Same question for MISSING CLASSMATES ... can a place a link to that section in the text of an announcement? How?

To create a link on any page, do the following:

Edit Site Pages, Edit Home page, type "Click HERE for Missing Classmates" or whatever you want to display
Select the "Click HERE..." text
Click INSERT/EDIT LINK (2nd row of icons, 6 or 7 icon from right side, world with two chain links in foreground)
BROWSE for a file OR paste the link you want to go to
Save the link
Save the contents of your page
