I made a new Announcement yesterday afternoon.
Now, several hours later, I have still not received an email about it, as I have in the past.

I have my 'A new announcement has been posted' set for immediate notification.

I presume the email system is again logged up.

I do NOT 'email the class' for these things, allowing members to get such notification only when they want them.

Well, I confirmed that I did not get that notification either. I did notice that "Notify 266 Classmates that this announcement has been updated" is not checked by default, and I can only assume that you are certain that you checked that option. I did receive all other expected Notify Me notices today, so it would be hard to explain why one did not go out.

Shouldn't I have been notified of the new announcement?
[RE: my setting is to be notified immediately of any new announcement]

As I recall, I HAVE been notified before when I choose this method.

No - That box NEEDS to be checked in order for the system to tag it to be sent as a Notify Me notification. The settings in NM for the member govern how they receive the notifications that are generated.
