I have a multi yr site for class yrs 1955-to current....and have been working with the current school principal on building the site. One question has been do we allow current students to join the group. Consensus seems to be building towards allowing classes of 2012 and 2013 to join. However, the principal is concerned about the possible misuse of live chat by current students.. My question is there anyway the admin can block use of live chat (and possibly message center) for members of these two particular class years ?

Hi Tom,

We have no facility for blocking access at the feature level to individual members of the site. All members are equal, unless elevated to admin. If you want separate features, the best we can suggest is to create a separate site and crosslink and/or share the system password to share content, but even this is a poor substitute for the kind of tiered access you're looking for. We simply do not offer that and I don't think we will.
