How do you set others as administrators to the site? I know that I'm the "root" one but I would like to promote others. Thanks

Just go to their profile under Manage Classmates and there is a check box at the bottom to make them an admin. Grant Admin Access:

How can I take myself off as administrator? I added someone else and changed him to root. I no longer see the boxes. Does he have to take me off? Thanks!

Yes, only the Root Administrator can grant co-Administrator access. The Root Admin just needs to go into your settings and uncheck the Administrator checkbox.
