We would like to create a play list of songs for our reunion DJ. He provided an Excel spreadsheet of songs and would like to get input from our classmates on what to play.

I know I could save the spreadsheet to our user space, provide a link to classmates to view (only) and ask classmates to type their requests into one or more text boxes. The drawback to this approach is there no practical way to consolidate a list without a lot of editing by someone after the results are downloaded.

Is there is a better way to do it?

Is there a way to use a spreadsheet to collect classmate responses to a single spreadsheet or media?

Thanks for any assistance you may provide.

You could create a spreadsheet on Google Docs and then share it with your classmates or make it public. They could then edit the spreadsheet (if that is what you want) and type any new songs in the spreadsheet. The problem is that they could also delete the songs already on the list.

You could paste the list of songs and then use the Survey Maker to have the classmates choose a song that they really don't want to hear or to suggest some new songs. As the survey progresses, the actual list of songs could be updated so that classmates don't repeat already suggested songs (this would need to be done manually, not automatically).

The survey app in the site has the option to export results in Excel. Create the survey to match his fields in His spreadsheet. Then export it and eliminate duplicates then go from there.

Should take you 10 minutes?
