I had a classmate go through this same thing yesterday. He forgot his password, said that our site wouldn't e-mail him his password so I asked him if he wanted me to go in and change it to something long enough for him to get in and then he could change it to something else when he was ready. He said that was fine, I did and it worked out fine. I don't know if that is the correct way, but it worked Yvette

I do the same thing....I just go in and change their password to a generic password that relates to our high school...send them an email explaining this and then tell them to change it to something more personal when the get back on to the website....works great.

I have found this is the easiest way to do it also. They seem to have trouble finding the spot to request the site send them thier password.
