Greetings,
I read on the Upload Class List page, "Instructions for Batch Importing Class List":
"If a Classmate is deceased place a * next to the Last Name -- this will automatically place the Classmate on the In Memory page."

Do you mean put the * in front or behind the name (in the same Excel cell).

Would it be * Smith
OR
would it be Smith *

Thanks,

Bob

I agree with you that the wording is ambiguous. I'll see if we can fix that. Meantime, the proper format is: Smith* (in the same cell).

Thanks, Eric.

On a similar note, I have uploaded the class list, but have not designated with asterisks those deceased.

Looking at the FAQ, I see:
How do I add a deceased Classmate to the "In Memory" section of my web site?
Answer: Follow the steps below:
Add deceased Classmate's Name to your active list of Classmates if you have not already done so.
Click on Edit Site Pages from your Administration Area.
Click the Edit button next to "In Memory."
Select the deceased Classmate's name from the dropdown list.
Click the "Add Selected Deceased Classmate" button.
Follow the instructions on screen.
Repeat for any additional deceased Classmates.

As it is now, there is no dropdown list.
Besides typing in a name, etc., is there an easier way to add to the "In Memory" page?

classes with many classmates don't get the drop-down. They need to use the SEARCH input field to find the classmates.

If you want to re-upload those classmates who are deceased, you can do RESET CLASSMATES and then create a file with only those classmates who are deceased and put the "*" directly after their last name. Then upload that file.

The RESET CLASSMATES can be found under the Manage Classmates, Upload Classmates page. You will get the chance to choose which classmates to delete.
