I have recently placed a pdf file link on my website, I just wanted to ask a stupid question. When I click on the link the page displays beautifully but it does not have the normal pdf reader look. When a classmate clicks on this link does he/she have to have Acrobat Readers on his/her computer to view the linked page?

Web browser PDF addon displays differently from desktop version. It's a recent change at least for FireFox. And yes classmate has to have Acrobat Reader installed to directly view or at least on their system if downloaded.

I agree. My display looks slightly different depending on if I open the file from within a website, or downloaded and then opened. The readers look slightly different.
