Hi how can I create a border around my announcements. Also how do I hide the administrator functions?

For the border, make a table. The table icon is in the top row of the edit window. It is two to the left of the smiley.

Only the root and site administrators see the Admin Functions section in the left menu, Hope. Do not be concerned, your classmates are not seeing that. You would have to give someone admin rights for the heading to show and areas you gave them to work in.

Also, you can make a table within a table, w/in a table, etc. to get fancy. Different background colors in each. Border size can be increased on each table.
