I am trying to clean up my File Vault, however the process isn't working very smoothly.

I wish we could access the vault, for maintenance, without having to activate a page then having to go back and forth between it and the vault. Maybe it is only me but when I click some items only "insert" pops up but not the preview graphic so I have to "insert" to see what it is then get back to the vault to delete it, a multi-step process. Some graphics do appear when clicked making it easier to clear it out.

Why would some show and others not? Did I do something in the upload process that would prevent a preview picture from showing?

For example, pdf files uploaded.
The file upload vault seems to be accessible only if you want create a link to an uploaded file.

Is there any way to view the vault, delete files, upload files, or move vault files to another folder without going through the "link" icon?

No, it can only be done through the LINK icon.
