How do I place flyers in our annoucements area? Using ether word doc or pdf..... I'm so confused

Dear Confused,

Here's how you do it:

1) Go into Edit Mode for your Announcement
2) Click the Chain Link icon
3) Click the File Vault button
4) Follow the directions on screen to upload your Word or PDF file
5) After the file is uploaded it click on it to select it and then click the "Insert link"

Voila, you now have a link on your page directly to your file for download. You can change the link verbiage to anything you desire.

Brad, I forgot how do you make smaller version of the document to click on to make the uploaded document pop up.

This is typically referred to as a "thumbnail image" To make a thumbnail image:

1) Open your document and go to any page (like the cover page) that you want to be your thumbnail image.
2) Press your Print Screen key. This takes a snapshot of your computer screen and puts it on your clipboard.
3) Open any image editing program, such as Photoshop or Picasa (which is free, get it at www.picasa.com) and paste your image (Control V or Edit, Paste)
4) Crop your image as desired.
5) Resize to the thumbnail image size of your choice.
6) Save as a JPG when done.
7) Upload this JPG to your site and click the chain link icon to enter your hyperlink to your PDF file

When people click your thumbnail image it will now launch your PDF file.
