Okay - I'm ready to go - how do I send the initial welcome letter to all my classmates? I don't see that as an option anywhere?

Did you see the "Email the Class" option? That will send out the e-mail to all of the classmates that you have an e-mail address for. After you send it out (there is not a pre-defined one, you need to make it up), you might get a few bounceback e-mails where you have the e-mail address wrong. you can then correct those classmate's e-mails and re-try to send it out again only to those classmates.
