Changing "Last Updated"

I've been clearing address information in a member's details based on mail returned to us by P.O. as undeliverable. When I download the class list I see the address information has been cleared. However, the "Last Updated" field does not change. Does this field only change if the member makes the change and not the admin?

yes, that is correct. Most of the time when an admin makes a change, it is a spelling correction or something like that. The Last Updated field is when the classmate last updated their profile.

Not a biggie by any means ... just a question out of curiosity ... screen capture attached.

I noticed on the Classmate Profiles page among the categories are these:

"Profile updated since your last visit: 106"
and
"Profile updated within past 6 months: 83".

Since I log on daily (assumption is a log on = a visit) I would expect the number in the first category to be much lower than the 2nd category. I would think more people have updated their profiles in the last 6 months than since I logged on yesterday or a few days ago.

Am I missing something here? Again, strictly a matter of curiosity; absolutely no concern... respond at your convenience.

Thanks,

Admin, Woodward Class of 1965 (Cincinnati, OH)

Mark, I think both numbers could be valid , since they're both a count of how many profiles have changed since the last time you visited/viewed them. There could be 106 which have changed since the last time you went to the profile to look, and 83 of those could be in the last six months.

Aha... John, Thanks, so does "last visit" refer to the last visit to the("a") profile and not a visit to the site? If I'm understanding, would that mean that 106 profiles have been updated since I last visited those 106 profiles ... and 83 of those updates occurred in the last 6 months? Obviously, not one of the major mysteries of the universe ... more along the lines of "nice to know". Thanks.

Yep. You've got it. "Visit" could have been interpreted as site visits, or visits to the class profile page where you're looking at those counts, but those highlighted check marks don't reset until you 'visit' each profile and 'see' whatever has changed.

By the way, if you ever get caught up, it's a lot easier to click on that top line to display only the updated profiles than it is to try to find the highlighted check marks in the list when there's only a few.

John, thanks and thanks, again. Now I get it ... the number goes down in the "Profile updated since your last visit" when I visit one of the profiles that have changed "since my last visit". If you can imagine me smacking myself in the forehead and saying "duh" - that will give you a relatively accurate image of my current state. Thanks, Mark.
