I have put 3 forum threads in my Seahawk Forum list. Is there a way to create a direct link from the home page to a particular thread?

You should be able to go to that thread and then copy the URL in the location bar. Then it is just like adding a link. Edit Site Pages > Edit Page for home page > in the editor window type your link phrase such as "Click here for XYZ topic" .. highlight that with your cursor and click the insert link button in the toolbar, then paste your link into the URL field. Save changes and go to the page to test your link.
