I use Picturetrail to post monthly birthdays to our homepage. While experimenting one day I tried to add a slideshow to my profile using the "Video" function (link below). It didn't work. Appears you have to use either YouTube, Vimeo or similar services. Any thoughts about incorporating Picturetrail slide show functionality..with music even better?

Happy New Year!!!

I don't know how (or what) you added to your homepage from picturetrail, but in certain sections of a profile you can enter html.

TV/Radio and Newpaper for certain allow html such as playing music, a picture from a link and others. Picturetrail does not allow iframe but you can link to photos from there using "img" tag.

Some other areas may also, these are just two I helped another person use.

Hey Jack...Happy New Year!

Appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately I am not familiar with html so what you describe is "greek" to me.

The Picturetrail service I use is a slide presentation with classmate pictures. I embed the code generated by Picturetrail using "source" in our editor.

Does this help at all?

I think you can use the same embed code in the profile areas I mentioned. That is "html" code.

Looks like I have join the site to get the embed code option to verify how it works. But I do have other embed code in the sections I mentioned.

Let us know how it works.Wink

Jack,

Still searching.

Here's what I did.

1. Click "Add Video" in personal profile
2. Then click "New Video"
3. Then pasted the following url for my slideshow - http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/24501603
4. Then click "Add Video"
5. Following message appears - 'Please paste just the link to the video you would like to share. For example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxxxxxxxx

What am I missing?

Again - objective is to add the slideshow to my personal profile.

Thanks...Vinnie

See response #3 on where to put the embed code.

It's not a video on that link so it has to go in one of the other areas mentioned.

You should be able to put exactly the same code you used when you said "I use Picturetrail to post monthly birthdays to our homepage."

I don't see anything on your home page right now, otherwise I could test and give an exact confirmation.

I did test my own from there, but there are many variations.

Jack,

In what area in the Personal Profile section did you embed the PictureTrail url code?

TV/Radio or Newspaper

Edit: Not just the link you posted, but the actual embed code you used before on the home page.

Sorry, wasn't thinking.

You can put it in just about any Profile area that allows text. Ours happened to have that label.
