Are there any plans for face recognition capabilities in the future?

If not, that's OK. I'm not going anywhere!

You know several years ago I went to see the move '21' about the M.I.T. students who took Vegas to the cleaners. It was very interesting. The kids were ultimately shut down by new face recognition technology that kept them out of casinos in Vegas and around the world for that matter. Pretty impressive stuff.

So, how do you propose we use face recognition technology? Compare a Senior Picture upload by you, to a current picture uploaded by the Classmate, to prove they're the real Classmate or something like that? If so I suspect it wouldn't work many times considering faces change quite a bit over the years after high school. But even if it did work, no, we don't have plans for anything pertaining to face recognition. I am curious what you're envisioning though, let me know.

Boy, did I get the name of that wrong!

Here's what I'm wondering about: When the mouse runs over a face in a group shot, the name of that person comes up. Of course, we would have to identify/type in the names the people first.

Does that make more sense? I really don't know what it's called but it sure is cool for identifying lots of folks in group photos.

Is that better? Hee Hee

Sure that's better. I thought maybe we're stopping Classmates from visiting online casinos or something. Wink

The feature you're referring to is called 'tagging'. I'm sure that's something we can look into in the future and most likely it's not overly difficult given today's tools. It wouldn't be for quite awhile though, we have a long list of upcoming features we'll be hiting before that. It's come up here before though and I've made a note to look into it when some of the more pressing features are out the door.

Here in California tagging is illegal but I trust whatever you guys do, you'll run it by law enforcement first! I'll be here when you get to it.

Thanks a bunch,
