I thought when I created and published the survey that I could email the respondents only (without sending to the whole class). Is starting to look like I made that up. Which is not new for me the older I get.

But does the surveyer have an email component somewhere hidden, I hope.

You didn't imagine it. There is a way to e-mail both the respondents and the non-respondents. Go to Survey Maker, click on the STATS image for the survey you are interested in (The ICON looks like a chart). Now at the bottom, there are two links, one to show the respondents, the other to show the non-respondents.

If you click one of those links, it will show those who did/didn't respond and at the bottom of the list, it will have a button to "Email Responding Members" or "Email non-responding members"
