i received following note from classmate:i would like to post some pictures too, but can't figure out how to do it. when i try to upload i-photos all i get is photos that have come TO me in e-mail - not i-photos program. is this because i'm on an Apple? can you answer this question?

I'm not sure exactly what's going on here, but I can tell you that our system has nothing to do with iPhotos or email, so she shouldn't be doing anything that pertains to either one of those things. She should only be clicking her Edit/Upload photos link within your web site itself and then following the instructions on screen.
