It has been awhile since I have updated the website. I cannot post a new announcement for some reason. Has something changed that I am not aware of, anyone please?

Are you activating it after you create the announcement???

Where are you trying to post it? On the homepage or a different page? Did you go to 'edit site pages', then to (Only an example) 'Homepage', then to 'Announcements', then to 'Create New Announcement", then 'SAVE' it before you left the page??
