I've uploaded a pdf to the file vault. I'd now like to link to it from the text on a page I have created. Can you give me a step-by-step of how to do it please?

1) Go into edit mode for the page on which you wish to place the link.
2) Click the chain link icon (not the yellow image icon)
3) Click the File Vault tab
4) Click the "Insert" link next to your PDF file
5) Click Ok a couple of times to return to your editing window
6) You'll see the whole link path is clickable but you can delete that path and change the wording as desired (e.g. "Click here to open my PDF file")

Thanks, but when I click on the chain link tab, there is not a File Vault tab. I cans see my pdf when I click on the File Vault button under the "upload a new file" tab, but there is no "insert" link next to the file

I've followed the steps and for some reason it is not working for me. I'm wanting to email the reunion committee a pdf of the choices on a classmate gift. It appears to work but when I send a "test" to myself, when I click on the link, I get the following:
Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 000.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Should I use another browser than Firefox?

Tina,

Usually this is because when you paste in the link, it doesn't paste the DOMAIN NAME. If you edit your e-mail, click the SOURCE button, then search for "href=", and then add "http://www.austinreagan67.com" then it should work.

Another browser won't make any difference in this case.

Ok-I tried that but now the link just opens up my website in a new screen when I click on the "Click Here" link-instead of the actual pdf document

After going to source, adding in my website, then I had to also paste the pdf link after that. For some reason it would not keep the pdf link on the source! But it worked! thanks!

Delora,

Go to EMAIL THE CLASS,
Edit your e-mail you are going to send
Select the "30 Year Reunion Information and regisrtation Form.pdf"
Click the LINK icon (3rd from right on 2nd row)
BROWSE to find the PDF file on your local hard drive
Click UPLOAD to upload the PDF file to the File Vault.
On the URL line of the LINK dialog, if the link doesn't include your domain name, add that, for example, http://www.classcreator.com
(You could use http://www.classcreator.com no matter what your own domain name is)
Save the link.
Save the e-mail.
Test the email to yourself. Click the link in the e-mail.
