My profile layoout appears to be corrupted, when my classmates try to access my page, they cannot see my profile, it appears to move to the far right and a black page has taken up residence on my profile, how can i remove that extra space.

You had a video plugin from rockyou.com in the videos box. Nothing wrong with that, but in this case only half of the code or so was there. It cut off right in the middle. When you put third party source code into the page it has to be complete -- the code just intermixes with the code from our system, so if something leaves off right in the middle it can cause any # of issues, which it did here. I removed the code and the Profile is fixed. You need to go out and copy the entire block of embed code again and paste it back in there.
