When we graduated in 1963, there was a girls' school and a boys' school. Later on, the girls' school closed and the boys' school became co-ed. Our reunion is open to both schools. I would like to know if there is any way to divide our list of names on Classcreator into two separate lists: guys in one and girls in the other. It'll just be easier to find names that way.

There isn't a way right now, but one of the next features to be developed (probably early next year) you will be able to give each classmate one or more specialized icon (girl icon, boy icon, etc.). Some classes will also be using this icon to signify the different clubs that classmates belonged to (Cheerleader, Football, Choir, etc.) Then from the CLASSMATE PROFILE page, you will be able to filter the classmates by this specialized icon.

Sorry that this doesn't help you right now.

What if I put an asterisk in front of the last name of all the girls' maiden names, e.g., Barbara *Kovats Tuttle? Since the list is alphabetized by last names, would that cause all the girls' name to go to the top of the list? (Or we could do it to all the boys' names.) Just wondering out loud here....

That would work. you could also put "(B)" or "(G)" in front of the last name. This might be a little more understandable to classmates than a "*"

Of course that extra (B) and (G) is going to carry over into automated mails that utilize the $last_name$ codes and won't allow you to download your list and sort it by last name -- unless you want it sorted with all the boys first and the girls last.

Perhaps using (DHS) or (SJA) would be more meaningful?

In your forums, profiles, etc you'll be ID'd as "Barbara (SJA) Tuttle" or "Barbara (G) Tuttle" etc.

Not sure if that's what you want or not. It would take a lot of work to insert any character into each file -- and as much work to remove it later. Rolling Eyes

Kyle/Brad - might switching to a 'multiple year' site help at all? can both schools have the same year? or is the year function editable to "DHS" and "SJA"?
